Student Handbook

1. Scope

This Student Handbook applies only to learners enrolled on online English, French, and German language courses delivered by Falésia Jovial International Career Institute. It does not apply to on-campus programmes or professional adaptation programmes.

2. About the Institute

Falésia Jovial International Career Institute (FJICI) is an independent education provider offering online language courses in English, German, and French. The Institute’s mission is to promote global employability and cross-cultural understanding through high-quality, accessible online education.

FJICI operates in compliance with the laws and regulations of the United Kingdom and delivers its programmes under an institutional Quality Management System to ensure consistency, transparency, and continuous improvement.

All members of staff are experienced professionals committed to teaching excellence and to the academic and personal development of every learner.

3. Academic Information

FJICI offers online language programmes at levels A1 to C1, designed to meet a wide range of learning needs. Courses are suitable for beginners through to advanced learners and are structured to support steady language progression.

All classes are delivered live via Zoom and supported by the Institute’s e-Learning Platform. Teaching is interactive and learner-centred, encouraging active participation, discussion, and practical communication skills.

Assessment takes place through placement assessments, ongoing participation, tutor feedback, and end-of-course assessments. Upon successful completion of a course, learners receive a Certificate of Attendance or Certificate of Completion, depending on the programme undertaken.

Each course follows the academic structure and assessment criteria outlined in the Programme Specification.

4. Admissions and Enrolment

Admission is open to applicants who meet the entry requirements of their chosen online language course. Applicants must complete an online registration form and provide any required supporting information.

Once the application is approved and applicable fees are paid, the Institute confirms enrolment and provides access to online learning platforms and course materials.

All new learners are required to attend an online orientation session prior to the start of classes. This session introduces learners to the course structure, assessment methods, digital platforms, and available support services.

Admissions and enrolment procedures are governed by the Online Admissions Policy and the Fees and Refunds Policy.

5. Attendance and Academic Progress

Regular attendance and active participation in live online classes are essential. Learners are expected to attend scheduled Zoom sessions and engage with course activities.

Attendance is monitored, and learners who experience difficulties in maintaining participation are encouraged to contact their tutor or the UK Operations and Compliance Officer for guidance and support.

Academic progress is monitored through continuous assessment. Additional academic support may be provided where appropriate.

6. Student Code of Conduct

All learners are expected to behave with integrity, respect, and professionalism in all online interactions.

Learners must:

  • Join online classes punctually

  • Participate respectfully in discussions

  • Refrain from disruptive, offensive, or inappropriate behaviour

Recording or sharing online classes without permission is strictly prohibited. Breaches of the Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or withdrawal from the course.

7. Health, Safety and Student Welfare

FJICI is committed to supporting the wellbeing of online learners. While courses are delivered remotely, the Institute recognises the importance of mental health and personal wellbeing.

Learners experiencing personal, emotional, or academic difficulties are encouraged to contact the Campus Administrator (Admissions & Student Support) or the UK Operations and Compliance Officer. Confidential guidance and referrals to external support services may be provided where appropriate.
